Acai Acidity

I like eating healthy. I really do.

I caught on the juice craze before and ordered myself sets of day cleanses. I won’t say that I loved them, because let’s face it, there’s just something about wolfing down an epic meal as opposed to bottles and bottles of juice. I have to admit though, I did a juice cleanse while healing from a wisdom tooth extraction, and that had to be one of the best decisions ever.

I digress. The point is, I like eating healthy. And also, I’ve said that twice.

My stomach, however, tends to disagree with all the fruits I put in my body. It’s too acidic, so digesting too much fruit takes a toll.

To make up for it, I usually ask for extra granola on my acai bowls. Either that, or I make sure that I’m not eating them on an empty stomach.

Sometimes it works. But most of the time, it doesn’t. I’m usually left with leftovers fit to last me an entire day – I can only take 1/3 of an order before my stomach starts waving a red flag.

It’ll be a while before I can feed myself with readily accessible acai bowls again, so I guess this will be a good rest for my stomach. Can’t say I won’t miss it, but for now, I think I’ll give my body the attention and care it deserves. Speaking of, french fries, where you at?
