At the start of 2014, I made a resolution to pave my way on the road to domestication. That meant spending hours in the kitchen experimenting, making a mess, and trying to churn out dishes that I could be well proud of. And I was able to – for the most part at least, I think only 2-3 dishes turned out to be a flop.
That being said, I’ve been regularly checking out Pepper.ph for recipes to follow, and I came across this Fake Twix recipe a couple of months back. I did forget about it though and was only reminded a few days ago…
Tadaaaaaah! Isn’t it a thing of beauty? I find the cracked chocolate layer on top such a ravishing thing to look at – I pretty much stared at it for a good 2 minutes or so after slicing. All in all it was a pleasant treat.
I may have made the caramel a little too sweet though, so I’ll try tweaking the recipe a bit next time.
Here’s a funny story. I took a nap and woke up at around 7:30 and went down to start baking. I guess I was too engrossed in it that I forgot to eat dinner. Oops. Currently stuffing my face with pancit canton as I type.
